My name is Mark Stevens, and I started this website as a place to organize and share the history of the Stevens family, both genealogical data and more general information as well. All such research must have a nucleus, and in this case my parents, Ellen Virginia Stevens and Homer Douglas Stevens, are at the hub. On my father’s side of the family we’ll be studying the Stevens and Parkers from Ohio, with the Caldwells and Hopsons from the State of Tennessee representing my mothers side. I already have a bit of info about my mother’s family tree to work with, but Dad’s side is where it’ll get tough.
While genealogy will be a significant part of this site, I’m just as interested in the stories behind the people. I’ll be sharing my own life experiences as well as those of other family members, chronicling the events that have defined us. Along the way I’ll include more diverse topics, researching the places we’ve lived, favorite vacation spots, as well as stores we frequented over the years. This will, hopefully, result in a format that’s worthy of study and an engaging read as well. I would love to hear from fellow historians or relatives, and welcome any contributions or corrections.
